Green Peas Sundal, South Indian Navaratri Recipes

Green Peas Sundal Recipe Pin Sundal and Navaratri festival are almost synonymous but I don’t limit something as nutritious and easy to prepare as a sundal to festival season alone. Pretty much all sundals have a similar recipe and the green peas sundal is no different. The only thing that you would need to remember to do ahead is the soaking. I used dried green peas for making this green peas sundal and it needs to be soaked for about 4 hours in warm water before preparing sundal with it....

Hurricane'S Grill Darling Harbour, Sydney

Vegetarians may find this post offensive, gross or otherwise a bit over the top so proceed at your own risk and whatever you do, don’t look at the second last picture in this post. Thanks So, I am in Sydney this week. Although I asked around a fair bit, authentic Australian food is pretty much just steak and burgers and an odd bit of kangaroo meat thrown in here and there....

Kala Chana Masala

More research on chickpeas gave me some nice-to-know nutrition facts about it. “One hundred grams of mature boiled chickpeas contains 164 calories, 2.6 grams of fat (of which only 0.27 grams is saturated), 7.6 grams of dietary fiber and 8.9 grams of protein. Sweet Chutney For Chaat

Sweet chutney , a sweet-sour-spicy chutney made with dates and tamarind which forms an essential ingredient in putting together chaat, the Indian food group that I would argue is the most craved, especially by those living outside the country. I am one of them too. I have continuously hunted for good chaat in Singapore high and low with marginal success but I still hardly make any chaat items at home. The primary reason is that it requires a few ingredients that I don’t always have in hand....

Tomato Thokku Recipe - Thakkali Thokku

Tomato thokku is probably the most flexible thing you’ll make. You can add and subtract ingredients as you please and it lends itself really well to all variations. I add garlic sometimes, blend the tomatoes or add them chopped, throw in some minced bell pepper, the choices are endless. The version of thakkali thokku I am sharing today is the simplest and uses no onion or garlic . I also find that adding a pinch of jaggery to tomato thokku really enhances the flavour....

Bread Gulab Jamun, How To Make Gulab Jamuns With Bread

Gulab jamuns. The quintessential dessert that’s present at pretty much every party, wedding, festival, and Indian buffet is a rich Indian sweet that’s made with reduced milk solids (mawa) made into balls, fried, and then dunked in rose-flavoured thick sugar syrup. Because of the very reason that it’s so popular, there are also many different methods to prepare gulab jamuns, including blasphemous shortcuts like using bread to make the jamun balls before soaking them in sugar syrup....
